sewing shorts

i bought this cute japanese book of shorts and pants awhile ago. i want to make mikey some shorts..and maybe pants. so today i made up these. i haven't sew pants or shorts in so long! and the instruction are in japanese of course.. but i managed a decent (but not perfect!) looking pair of shorts i think. he's wearing them not so will take another pic of him with them on later..

carnival fun!

we went to the carnival this saturday. and my son loved the merry go round and the little train type ride. why are carousels so pretty! even the most un-elaborately painted ones. enjoy these random pics i took!

mikey's yard sale find

here is mikey's yard sale find! a play climber! and how much did it cost!? a mere $10.00! yep that's all! he likes it alot!

this weeks yard sale finds

and we found a few things at yard sale too. some beautiful hammered aluminum pieces and two very old glass candy dish bowls.
i love hammered aluminum it generally has beautiful embossed designs including flowers.
the glass bowls are both so pretty. one is bubble glass. the other is a hobnail type pattern.

this weeks thrift store finds

we found several treasures this week at the thrift stores including a depression glass vase, an ideal kissy baby doll, a herself the elf doll, vintage fabric, tons of rick rack and seam binding and some super adorable hand embroidered potholders from the 20's-30's!
