artful blogging

i recently got the newest artful blogging and it is as usual full of eye candy and fun reading. i am happy i see a few blogs a recognize and some others that are fun.

i also see in this issue that there are new magazines for 2009..stuffed all about stuffed creations.. just right for me! and i did see at the book store the new magazine where women create. i really wanted to get it but with artful blogging being SO expensive i just bought artful blogging that day.

but today i found an issue of where women create on ebay for a lower price so i snagged it! yippee!

someday maybe my blog will be considered artful but until then i'll keep trying!

mikey's christmas tree

i put up mikey's little fiber optic christmas tree he loves so much today. so he can be surprised when he gets home. i found a crocheted tree skirt at the thrift store recently. i am going to wash it6 today so i can put it around the tree. i don't do much decoration these days cause mikey is very grabby and doesn't understand things are breakable or dangerous. but i'll do a little bit.

fuzzy blythe hats

i am experimenting with fuzzy yarns to make blythe hats and this is what i did so far. i like to trim it with regular yarn. i think it gives it a more finished look. will do more soon!

thrift store finds

we went thrift store shopping this weekend as usual. i nearly bought another cabinet but decided it wasn't sturdy enough. but i did get these two pairs of vintage gloves. they have pretty details. i intend to use them for winter gloves!
also got this pretty pastel rhinestone clip. i guess it's a dress clip. it's really pretty and even the back has some pretty details. i have it clipped on the collar of my coat.

craft show

we went to a little local craft show this sunday. not much exciting there but i did get a pair of handmade oven mitts in a pretty strawberry fabric and a handknitted hat and mittens for mikey. they were really inexpensive so i though we could always use back up hats and mittens. i love cable knitting..i really need to learn to knit someday!
also got a couple x-mas gifts!

target

i love target.. it is my favorite place to shop.. the only thing i don't like is the little boys section..everything is so boring. i wish they'd get some unique little boy clothes.
i bought myself some socks this weekend. they have lots of cute socks and slippers right now. but i controlled myself and just got one three pack of cute knee highs and one pair of slipper socks. target is so tempting!

BEAR HATS FOR BLYTHE

so since i just got this new blythe doll i just HAD to make bear hats for her! went a little crazy! but it is fun to have a new model!

our new old dresser

this is a dresser we bought a couple weeks ago at a salvage/thrift store. i don't know how old it is but i love the curved drawers. it's not perfect but i love it. at it's price? $55.00. so keep shopping! eventually you'll find something great!

thrifted boots part one

i am trying my bast to be more thrifty. so i have been looking at clothes and shoes more often at the thrift store i go to. i really like these boots i found. they are coasters brand.. i am guessing from the 80's. they have woven accents and look a bit victorian.. i guess that's why i liked them. they look practily new and the best part was that they only cost $1.00!

yesterday's snail mail

besides olivia two other fun packages arrived yesterday. these sweet japanese memo pads from ebay and these yummy vintage buttons from pink grapefruit style on etsy.
