mikey

mikey has been ok. he was less cooperative with his teachers this week. for those who didn't know he is having home bound schooling now and his teacher and therapists come to him.
he is really happy today so maybe he'll do better.
i got him a valentine's dayb helium balloon yesterday and he can't seem to stop playing with it. he's so easy to please.. sometimes.
here is a pic of him eating applesauce and orejitas (mexican cookies.. "little ears" ..shaped like bunny ears).

thrift store finds part four.. my favorite!

and here is my favorite find of the week. it is a big vintage scrapbook made by a very sentimental lady. the cute thing about this is that i have a very similar one myself.
this vintage one is filled with cards from sally and martin to each other. mementos of their courtship.. dried flowers, a few pics of the couple, cards from their wedding and engagement. lots of sweet and pretty things. it's sad to me that this might have ended up in the garbage. they were are very sweet couple who seem to have loved each other alot. i hope they had a very happy life together!

thrift store finds part three!

ok i know i said this was coming sooner.. but this week has been really quite busy.. and so on to part three!

yes another box! it has pegs to store all of your threads. the threads i am keeping are still inside. i have a bunch of vintage threads on wooden spools that will go inside here.

the threads i took out. these i'm not keeping. but they will go to my favorite little sewing sister...

dusting dollies

i am slowly dusting my dolls this week. so i am taking a few pics as i go. i have been collecting them for about 15 years. so there are alot of them. i should really downsize.

thrift store finds part one

thrift store finds for the week...will be separating this into 3 or 4 posts cause i want to add lots of pics. this first group is a ton of cotton crochet thread. i use this for dolly things and doilies.

i decided to make a few doilies in between dolly things and softies. so i finished this one yesterday. made from pretty blue cotton.

hi all, i know i've been a blog slacker the last few days...but i'll try to better this week. yesterday we went shopping. found these yarns on sale 70% off! some japanese noro yarns which are really expensive usually so i was happy we stopped at that little yarn store.
also have thrift store finds to show.. but will do that tomorrow. hope everyone is well! huggs!

spring shoes for mikey!

mikey's feet are growing... as it should be i suppose! so i ordered him a new pair of eleven shoes! these are called oslo. aren't they cute! i ordered these directly from their website cause they have them on sale for just 30.00!
his other two pairs of eleven shoes have help up really well.. despite wearing them all summer and fall.
