owls!

i finally fished up some owl hats!

reading to mikey

before mikey was born i had so many plans on the kinds of things i wanted to do with my children. one of which was reading to them. well autism stopped me from being able to do that.. how? well i would try to read to him and he would scream! for some reason he couldn't stand being read to. he would cry and push you away. so after alot of trying i gave up for quite a long time. i started trying again this year and strangely he didn't have as bad of a reaction so i kept at it.

i had been thinking of buying winnie the pooh and where the side walk ends to read to him for a few years.. even looked at them on ebay a few times.. but considering how he reacted to reading i just never bought them. so a few months ago i foud BOTH of them sitting right next to each other at the thrift store.. coincidence? i had to get them!

the winnie the pooh is a 1957 edition and has cute color illustrations.

where the sidewalk ends if full of funny pictures and poems. we are nearly done reading this one.

we finished winnie the pooh. i read to him at bedtime and alot of times he fall asleep fast... so i guess hes getting used to it..or the stories are boring! haha!

we also finished peter pan which i got at targets dollar spot.

and these are our unread ones..maybe we can finish them this year? if you have any book suggestions please leave comments below.

warren dunes

we spend sunday and monday morning in sawyer michigan at the warren dunes. i wish i could say we had a wonderful tie but mikey was out of sorts. really cranky.. not liking the sand or water or..well anything. mostly crying and wanting to leave. it's really a shame because it's a beautiful place. i feel like we are tuning into hermits. if any parents of autistic children have travel advise please comment.

festival of the lakes

we went to the festival of the lakes on saturday. it was hot but we went on some rides.. no pics of me cause i was taking pics.,

1973 cinderella book

i spotted this 1973 cinderella book quite by accident on ebay and loved the illustrations..so i got it and now i'll be reading it to mikey.

but check out how goofy looking the prince is! haha!

my husband got these for me at a yard sale the other day cause there was an "owl" and a pumpkin in the set.. well the "owl" was actually a bat.. but still very cute!

he also got me like 30 of these wood plaques for painting on! fantastic find!

my husband surprised me with these paintings he found at a yard sale on saturday.  planning to put them in my crafty shed when it is ready.

we went to a street festival type thing on saturday and there was a very sweet lady there selling pottery that she had made for super low prices. i got these three little bowls for $9.00. wishing i had gotten more!
