this week's project

aside from my usual crocheting this week i am painting all of the picture frames in my living room white. sort of a shabby chick.. but without the distressing.

fun, cute storage. i got these at michael's the paint can one is the size of a real gallon paint can and just as hard to open! good for keeping tiny finger out! i am keeping vintage ribbons and trims in it.

i love pretty china. vintage or new. i've got quite a collection. i am hoping to find another china cabinet this year to put it all in.
these are some plates i have on display. mostly hanging in the kitchen. some are old.. some i bought new.

i got this bunny on etsy. it's supposed to be a vintage bunny. but it was inexpensive and sweet!


so i touched up it's face paint a bit and added some of the ribbons that i dyed and a vintage look millinery flower.

i only made two or three of these. i called them hankie babies. the dress is made with a vintage hankie. accented with felt petals.

antique mall finds!

this particular antique mall has alot of victorian prints and goodies. so i got this stand up basket. it is really quite large about a foot tall and so pretty!



i couldn't resist these tiny doll booties with embroidered roses. now they are on my bit of whimsy annie who has been with me..for a long time!




i love this box made from greeting cards! my grammy used to make ornaments out of greeting cards. all the cards are christmas or winter themed.. but i'll leave it out all year. so pretty!

spring decorations

i'm not big on holiday decorating. at least not since i had a grabbie fingered child roaming about. but i have a few spring/easter things out. up high where they cannot be grabbed of course!





my hubby bought me these little domes some years back. i love them!

i love vintage jewelry..especially with rhinestones. here is what i've collected over the years. i may have missed a piece or two.. but i think this is mostly all of it. some are from my grandma, great grandma and aunt joyce.



this is a dress or shoe clip. love multi colored rhinestones!




pins.. i don't have a ton of them.. they seem to be harder and harder to find at good low prices. love the huge pink one! a lucky thrift find! and my cameo! so pretty!


vintage clip-on earrings. love these.. but i dunno how women used to wear them! they kill your ears!


bracelets. some missing stones.. but very pretty! and the sweater clip. love the art nouveau design!


and crystal necklaces. i think i have a couple beaded necklaces somewhere.. but i love these. the red came from my late aunty joyce's collection. not sure if it was my grandma or great grandma's.

ok maybe i need some help. ribbons and buttons just are something i cannot resist. especially when they come in candy colors like this antique plaid ribbon! i think i need more!
